Hey guys, can you believe how close we are to closing the chapter that is 2018? Me neither. Almost 365 days have passed since we entered the year and it has flown by.
I think we can all agree, that like any year, 2018 has had some really great times but alongside those, some bad times. Then the rest lies somewhere in-between, I guess the… ‘life-is-going-meh’ times? Doesn’t have the same ring to it though.
I hope as a whole, you have had a super awesome year, and if not, I really hope 2019 treats you better. I am rambling so I will digress; today, we’re hear to talk about my goals and ‘bucket-list’, if you will, for 2019.
Get good A-Level Results – I will be sitting them January and June/July of next year and therefore receiving my results in August, I’ve been working hard so I am determined to open the envelope to see 3 grades I’m proud of.
Get into university – Linking to the latter, my university place will likely be dependent on my results so it would mean a lot to me if I got into university. If you don’t know, I’ve just applied to study Law.
Grow my blog – I have not been the most consistent blogger by any means, and I want to change that next year. I want to be even more dedicated to growing it and hopefully (fingers crossed) even going self-hosted? We’ll see.
Eat well & exercise – This sounds like a weird one, and I do actually live a pretty healthy life but there is always room for improvement. I want to make sure I have a really well balanced diet next year, as well as regular exercise.
Start writing my book – Again, this might not be one you see on everyone’s ‘new years resolutions’ list but it’s always been a dream of mine to write a book. Though I don’t aspire to be a full-time author, publishing a book would be incredible, so I want to at least be making a start on writing it next year.
Visit Wales – Not much explanation for this one really; my boyfriend has been to Wales many, many times with his family growing up and since getting together 2+ years ago, we’ve wanted to go on a little holiday there!
Be confident – This is kind of broad, but I am sure many of you can relate. I have been building up my confidence a lot over the past couple years, but I still have a lil’ bit to go. I really want 2019 to be the year of overcoming my anxieties and being truly confident.
Start driving – Since I was 17, I’ve seen my age group around me learn to drive and zoom past me in their warm cars, whilst I walk in the pouring rain. I am 19 in April, so I feel like I want to definitely make a start on lessons.
Make friends – Whilst I do have a few people I could consider ‘sixth form friends’; I don’t have a close friend who I can fully trust, speak to about everything or spend time with!
Go to a rock/metal concert – My boyfriend and I have similar taste in music and mutual favourite bands, after speaking about going to see some live for the past 2 years, hopefully next year we do!
Grow my hair – Apparently I decided it was a good idea to chop most of my mega long hair off last summer, I did this the year before but I guess I didn’t learn my lesson, despite regretting it that time too. I suppose my goal is to NOT cut it!
(It is already at my waist but I want it to the bottom of my back!)
Be happy – Wow, so cliche, right? But I’m sure that’s all anyone wants, above all. I just want to be fully happy within myself and my life.
